Phosphorous-one of the most abundant minerals available from everyday food sources. Vital for teeth and bones. Also important in energy production. Richest sources are meat, fish, eggs, milk and cheese.

Deficiencies are rare but please contact 100% FITNESS if you feel fatigued, are experiencing stunted growth or have a relative who might be, are experiencing muscle spasms, or are taking a long time to heal from a fracture.Together, we will be able to determine whether you aren't getting enough phosphorous in your diet or if there is another explanation for your symptoms.

Magnesium - Deficiencies in diet have more recently been linked with heart disease. It is not only important for its involvement in cell structure and having a healthy heart. It is utilised in bone growth, manufacturing teeth enamel, and is necessary for nervous impulse transmission.

Excessive amounts of alcohol consumption can interfere with the bodies ability to absorb magnesium.

Best Sources: Soya mince, cashew nuts, almonds, wholegrain cereal, shrimps, muesli, okra, and rye crispbread.

If you are suffering from appetite loss, insomnia, an irregular heart beat or fatigue, then you may have a magnesium deficiency. Contact your GP and 100% FITNESS to get back to health.

Iron - Involved in transportation of oxygen around your body to all your cells, so it's pretty important. Anaemia is the name given to iron deficiency, and is a common disorder.

Better absorbed from animal sources and in the presence of Vitamin C.

Women need twice as much as men to compensate for the menstrual cycle. Pregnant women must intake even more iron!

Consult your GP if you think you may be anaemic. Deficiencies in iron can present as fatigue, hair loss, palor, headaches, and / or shortness of breath.

Zinc - Essential for healthy sex organs and sexual reproduction. Infertility may come about from lack of zinc in men. Prostate health is also linked with zinc. (See also selenium.)

Zinc has many other uses within the human body so is a must have in anyone's diet. Meat, shellfish, fish, cheese, and eggs should be used as zinc sources.

Increasing Zinc intake may help with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

If you are suffering from any of these symptoms or want to know the best sources of Zinc, then please contact 100% FITNESS; Acne, PMS, Post-natal depression, Loss of appetite, or slow wound healing.
